Daun Nyirik

In the supposedly modern world, plastic container has mostly substituted this essential leaves.  Nasi katok, nasi lamak nowadays use some form of plastic wrapping, non degradable materials.  In the old days, most of take-away food are wrapped in the bio-degradable leaves like this one; daun nyirik (Marantaceae). So if we are serious about reducing the use of plastic, and look after the health of our planet, why not grow more nyirik.
